Vegetarian options are always available. Tell us about allergies when you book.

Choosing a safari

Which desert safari actually suits you

Four things decide it: the time of day, whether you share the vehicle, the size of your group, and whether anyone wants to drive instead.

Evening, morning or overnight

The evening safari is what most people mean by a desert safari in Dubai. Afternoon pickup, dune bashing while the light is good, then a Bedouin camp for dinner and shows. It runs 7 to 8 hours door to door and finishes around 9 or 10pm.

The morning safari is shorter and quieter. Pickup before dawn, dune bashing as the sun comes up, and you are back at the hotel by late morning with the rest of the day free. In summer it is also the only comfortable option.

Overnight safaris add a night in the camp under the stars. It is a genuinely different experience and worth it if you have the time, but it is not the one to book if you have an early flight.

Shared or private, and why the price basis differs

A shared safari puts you in a Land Cruiser with other guests, usually six or seven people. That is why it is priced per person and why it is cheap. You have no control over who else is in the vehicle, which is fine for most people and occasionally is not.

A private safari gives you the vehicle. It is priced per vehicle rather than per head, so the maths flips: a family of six in a private Land Cruiser often pays less in total than six shared seats, and gets a driver who works to their pace. If your group is four or more, always ask us to price both.

Ready to lock in a date? Send your group size and we will confirm availability the same day.

What to wear and bring

Comfortable clothes and closed shoes. Sand gets into everything, and the camp floor is sand. In winter evenings genuinely get cold once the sun drops, so bring a layer. In summer the opposite problem applies and the morning safari is the better booking.

Bring a camera and something to keep it in. Dune bashing throws sand around and phones do not enjoy it. If you wear contact lenses, sunglasses are worth having for the photo stops.

How a safari compares with driving yourself

A safari is the one desert activity where somebody else does the work. If you want to drive, a dune buggy from AED 300 or a quad from AED 75 puts you in control instead, and both are priced per vehicle.

Plenty of groups do both, and that is usually the right answer when a group is mixed. The people who want to drive take a buggy or a quad, everyone else takes the safari, and the whole group meets at the camp for dinner. Tell us the split and we will plan it.

Book your Dubai desert adventure

Dune buggy, quad bike or KTM dirt bike, tell us the date and group size and we will come back with availability, the total in AED and a pickup plan.

Q01

How much is a desert safari in Dubai?

From AED 99 per person for the shared evening safari. Private safaris are priced per vehicle instead, starting higher but working out cheaper for a family or a group who want the 4x4 to themselves.

Q02

Is the price per person or per vehicle?

It depends on the package, and every card on this page says which. Shared safaris are per person because you share a Land Cruiser with other guests. Private safaris are per vehicle.

Q03

How long does a desert safari take?

The evening safari runs 7 to 8 hours door to door, including pickup and drop-off. Morning safaris are shorter, usually 4 to 5 hours.

Q04

Is dune bashing safe for children?

Yes, and children usually enjoy it most. Tell us their ages when you book. If anyone in the group gets motion sick, ask for a gentler drive and the driver will adjust.

Q05

Can I do a safari without dune bashing?

Yes. Tell us when you book and the driver takes a calmer route to the camp. Guests who are pregnant, have back problems or simply do not enjoy it take this option regularly.

Q06

Is the food halal?

Yes, the BBQ dinner is halal. Vegetarian options are always available. Tell us about allergies or dietary needs when you book so the camp knows in advance.

Q07

Do you pick up from the hotel?

Hotel pickup and drop-off within Dubai is free on every booking. Outside Dubai we quote the transfer before you commit.

Q08

Can I add a buggy or quad to a safari?

Yes, and it is the most popular combination we run. A quad and safari combo starts at AED 200. A buggy with BBQ dinner starts at AED 450. Ask on WhatsApp and we will price your group.
